Job Summary

As a Marine Paint Technician, you'll perform basic boat preparation for painting, as well as spray finish coats to the desired thickness. Additionally, you'll produce high-quality finishes, blend and repair surfaces. Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Tape or protect surrounding surfaces from overspray during painting process. Clean, sand, and smooth surfaces using appropriate tools. Perform longboarding using fairing compounds.
• Maintenance: Set up and dismantle staging. Clean boats and work area daily.
• Administrative: Process billing and materials used during project. Communicate with customers when needed. Perform additional duties assigned to support production goals.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect painted surfaces for quality and consistency. Perform all work to the Hinckley Company Standards.
• Safety Compliance: Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Other: All duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in auto body or marine paint applications.
• Physical Requirements: Lift and carry over 25 lbs. and up to 60 lbs. on a frequent basis.
• Certifications: Vocational, high school diploma, or General Equivalency Degree (GED) required.
• Pre-Employment: All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Awlgrip or similar marine coating systems.
• Proficient in sanding, masking, and painting techniques.
• Comfortable using pneumatic tools and spray equipment.
• Basic math and computer skills for documentation and billing.

Mandatory respirator use is required for certain tasks.
