Budget Analyst

About the Position This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, 717th Military Intelligence Battalion located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience One year of specialized experience which includes: Examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting data, records and reports utilizing automated accounting and budget systems; Providing information and guidance to program managers on procedures and documents to support formulation estimates; Performing budget execution tasks, such as tracking funds, reconciling commitments/obligations, reallocating funds, consolidating budget estimates, and noting variances. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
