E-Commerce Associate I

Location: Spokane, WA Employment Type: Part / Full‑time/Hourly Wage: $17.40 per hour Employment Benefits: Standard Goodwill benefits for full‑time employees; part‑time employees receive limited benefits. Background check required. Summary Responsible for acquiring donated items, photographing them, writing detailed descriptions, uploading them to the ShopGoodwill/E‑Books online website, answering customer questions, providing customer service, and tracking online merchandise. Maintain proper record‑keeping, keep the work area clean, organized, and safe. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. One to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Background check required. Responsibilities Acquire donated items from various areas (warehouse, retail stores). Scan books and other media for online listing. Maintain knowledge of E‑Books processing software and determine acceptability of items for online sites. Use and understand Amazon, eBay, and other auction websites. Shelve books, audio media, and DVDs on proper shelves. Assist customers with questions and follow up on complaints as instructed by the E‑Commerce Manager or Assistant Manager. Track packages through shipping systems using individual tracking numbers. Communicate customer issues to Management promptly. Handle specialty items and jewelry: knowledge of precious metals, gemstones, synthetics, recognizing brand stamps, and using testing equipment (sonic cleaner, Gem-O-Rect, gold testing equipment). Photograph items clearly and in detail; upload images with software such as Picasa. Produce accurate, succinct descriptions for ShopGoodwill and other auction sites. Return store merchandise not accepted for sale as directed, and pull sold items. Collaborate with Workforce and Family Services to provide participant services. Follow all Goodwill policies, procedures, and safety directives, including wearing required PPE. Maintain agency confidentiality; violations may lead to dismissal.
