Job Title: RN Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 PM - 07:15 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Certification, CPI Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and ability to work in a stressful environment. Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patients' discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Populations Served: Neonate: Under 30 days Infant: Under 1 year Early Childhood: 1 year to under 5 years Late Childhood: 5 years to under 13 years Adolescent: 13 years to under 17 years Young Adult: 17 years to under 30 years Middle Adult: 30 years to under 60 years Older Adult: Over 60 years Physical Requirements: Constantly: Audible speech, standing, walking Frequently: Depth perception, distinguishing colors, hearing acuity, keyboard/data entry, lifting/moving patients, reaching, seeing at far and near distances, sitting, smelling acuity Occasionally: Bending/stooping, driving, gripping, kneeling, lifting/carrying non-patient items weighing 25-50 lbs, pushing/pulling 25-50 lbs, repetitive foot/leg movements, repetitive hand/arm movements, squatting, taste discrimination Rarely: Crawling, running Never: Climbing, lifting/carrying non-patient items over 50 lbs, pushing/pulling over 50 lbs, twisting Unit Description: 18 bed emergency department, including 2 trauma rooms, with an additional 3 fast track/vertical care rooms. Level 3 trauma center. Currently averaging 65-70 patients per day.
