Position: Pastry Cook Department: Chef
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute all pastry items in all outlets
- Review the menu cycle of the day
- Prepare in accordance with the provided recipe or provided information
- Prepare items typically one day in advance and in accordance with the house count, reviewed sheets and communicate with the lead for further information
- Assemble the base of the main item
- Prepare all the components, i.e. sauces, garnishes and store appropriately
- Replenish any par levels used from the storeroom
- Demonstrate plated desserts and review with the pantry staff
Normal Working Hours: As Required
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate must meet the following criteria in addition to the Ten Essential Attributes for All Employees:
Past Work Experience Requirements: 3 years minimum pastry experience
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Associate Degree in pastry arts
Communication Skills Requirements: Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English Understand basic pastry terminology
Technical Requirements: Well rounded in all areas of pastry preparations West Virginia Food Handler's Permit Required
Supervision: Reports to Executive Pastry Chef Ability to complete tasks unsupervised as well as be a team player
Other Requirements: Able to do multiple tasks at the same time an work under pressure and deadlines Follow instructions/recipes well Flexible Good time management skills Consistent demonstration of the Ten Essential Attributes Production / Quality Oriented Requirements are subject to change
