Filler Operator Needed!
Location: Cortland, NY
Rate of Pay: $24.50/hr
Job Type: Full-Time | 12-hour Shifts | Day 6am-6:30pm*
***Shifts operate on a two-week rotation. General Description:
The  Filler Operator plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality products. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, cleaning, and troubleshooting filling equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
The Filler Operator supports production goals by maintaining equipment performance, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Operate assigned filling equipment, including setup, pre-start, startup, operation, shutdown, and cleaning per established SOPs.
  
  
• Achieve production, safety, quality, and cost objectives.
  
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in accordance with established procedures.
  
  
• Notify maintenance or supervisors of mechanical malfunctions and assist with problem resolution.
  
  
• Perform Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Clean-Out-of-Place (COP) processes, including monitoring chemical inputs, temperature, and time controls.
  
  
• Maintain production schedules, meet order expectations, and support waste reduction initiatives.
  
  
• Clear jam-ups and restore production line operations promptly.
  
  
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and all plant policies and regulations.
  
  
• Conduct ongoing product quality control checks.
  
  
• Support other areas of production as assigned and cross-train in multiple operational areas.
  
  
• Follow all food safety, SQF, and workplace safety requirements, reporting issues promptly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic to advanced mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, weights, and measures).
  
  
• Ability to understand and respond appropriately to employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
  
  
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English (bilingual skills are a plus).
  
  

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
  
  
• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience   a MUST!

Work Schedule:

• Availability for morning, afternoon, &/or overnight shifts any day of the week.
  
  
• Typical schedule: 36–48 hours per week (12-hour shifts); additional hours as business needs require.

Environmental Conditions:

• Work performed primarily indoors, with exposure to hot, cold, wet, and humid conditions.
  
  
• Potential exposure to food ingredients (including allergens) and cleaning chemicals used in food processing.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including production and warehouse spaces.
  
  
• Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  
  
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, and balance for the duration of the shift.
  
  
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently (and more with assistance).
