Audio Engineer for AI Model Training

Role Overview

Apply audio engineering expertise to produce high-quality training data that helps improve next-generation AI systems. This remote contract role focuses on critical listening, audio quality assurance, restoration, annotation, and clear technical feedback. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed quality assurance reviews of audio recordings, identifying and documenting artifacts, anomalies, and other issues.
• Assess and accurately classify the severity of audio issues for AI model training use.
• Complete audio cleanup and restoration work to ensure data meets professional standards.
• Annotate audio and video data with clear, concise notes supporting AI and machine-learning development.
• Participate in data labeling, review, and quality-control processes for large datasets.
• Apply audio engineering best practices, share insights with the team, and provide regular feedback in a distributed work environment.

Qualifications

• Professional monitoring setup with studio monitors or high-end headphones suitable for critical listening.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills for precise issue reporting and collaboration.
• Deep understanding of audio quality assurance and audio artifact detection methods.
• Experience with audio restoration, cleanup, and editing workflows using industry-standard tools.
• Ability to provide thorough, objective, actionable feedback to improve audio data.
• Familiarity with data annotation and quality control in AI or media workflows.
• Self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience labeling audio or video data for machine-learning or AI development.
• Experience collaborating with distributed audio engineering teams.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Terms

• Independent contractor role.
• Remote, open to candidates located in the United States and Canada.

Compensation

$30 to $50 per hour.
