Travel Radiation Therapist

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT(R) certification and a minimum of 1 year of experience for a 13-week hospital-based assignment delivering planned radiation therapy treatments using LINAC equipment.

Job Details

• Hospital-based Radiation Therapy department,
• Operates LINAC equipment to deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments,
• Performs CT clinical simulation procedures and assists with tumor localization and dosimetry,
• Assists in the use and fabrication of positioning and restraining devices, patient set-ups, and portal adjustments,
• Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM); exact start and end times may vary,
• No floating or on-call requirements indicated,

Job Requirements

• Active ARRT(R) certification required; NC license required if applicable,
• Current BLS certification required,
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist,
• Travel experience preferred,
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible,
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration,
• Two professional references required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Maintains close observation and supervision of patients throughout treatment,
• Collaborates with physicians and staff to organize simulation schedules and prevent delays,
• Participates in the training of radiation therapy students,
• Responsible for accurate patient charge capture,
• Applies ALARA principles and maintains strict radiation safety practices,
• Exercises professional judgment and upholds medical ethics standards,
• Minimal to no time off will be approved, including summer holidays,
• Locals and candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
