Technical Program Manager III, Infrastructure Capacity Planning, Global Infrastructure

Own the capacity forecast for dedicated machine pools across all global clusters, modeling organic growth, new cluster turnups, and large inorganic service migrations.Translate logical resource demands into physical dedicated machine supply, ensuring every cell meets hardware platform rules and failure-domain minimums across switches and mzones.Drive two supply fulfillment paths for dedicated pools, placing long-lead orders with power validation, and executing faster shared-to-dedicated machine conversions by transferring donor quota and coordinating drains.Lead annual planning, allocation reconciliation, and the escalation cycle for specialty dedicated infrastructure orders.Partner with Compute Security Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Cluster Management TI Resource Managers (TIRMs), and migrating product area Product Area Resource Manager (PARMs) across Cloud, Core, Search, and Technical Infrastructure (TI) to unblock and onboard services without stocking out constrained clusters.Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.5 years of experience in program management.Experience with data analysis, business intelligence, or dashboarding tools (e.g., SQL or metrics platforms).Experience with infrastructure capacity planning.Preferred qualifications:5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.5 years of experience in technical program management, capacity planning, product area resource management, or infrastructure engineering.Experience writing SQL queries and building data models or dashboards to analyze fleet utilization, demand forecasts, or supply-chain bottlenecks.Experience translating software workload requirements such as compute, memory, local storage, and failure-domain redundancy into physical infrastructure capacity plans.Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. Integrated Capacity Group is the single orderer of compute and storage quota and the operator of shared and dedicated Flex resource pools across Technical Infrastructure, Core, Search, Platforms and Devices, Geo.We are hiring a Technical Program Manager to own end-to-end capacity planning, forecasting, and supply fulfillment for dedicated resources.Unlike large shared pools where workloads statistically multiplex across tens of thousands of machines, dedicated security-isolated pools require tight cluster-level hardware planning across failure domains, machine platforms, data center power constraints, and cross-product area quota conversions.In this role, you will build the forecasting and supply engine for these dedicated pools and specialty dedicated infrastructure.
