About the Opportunity

Our client is an established transportation and logistics organization with a strong presence across North America. They are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee day-to-day transportation operations and lead a team of approximately 9–10 employees across dispatch, logistics coordination, and related operational functions.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the pace and complexity of the transportation industry and can effectively coordinate people, customers, carriers, and shipments while keeping operations running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transportation and logistics operations, ensuring shipments are managed efficiently and on schedule.
• Lead and support a team of approximately 9–10 employees, including dispatchers and Logistics Coordinators.
• Provide direction, coaching, and day-to-day leadership to the operations team.
• Oversee local and international dispatch activities.
• Coordinate transportation requirements with carriers, customers, and internal teams.
• Monitor shipment activity and proactively address operational issues or delays.
• Support pricing, brokerage, and transportation coordination activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely communication throughout the shipment lifecycle.
• Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve processes and service levels.
• Help ensure compliance with company procedures and transportation requirements.
• Work closely with leadership to resolve escalated customer, carrier, and operational issues.
• Maintain a strong focus on customer service, efficiency, and operational execution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight, or a related operational environment.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong experience with warehouse operations and local/international dispatch.
• Experience with freight brokerage and transportation pricing.
• Familiarity with TruckMate and transportation management systems.
• Experience with LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) transportation.
• Strong understanding of carrier coordination, shipment planning, and logistics processes.
• Proven ability to lead and organize a team in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and service levels.
