Job Description Explore and embrace your role: As an Electrical Engineer at Envista Forensics, you will conduct forensic investigations related to electrical incidents and failures. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and experts to determine the origin and root causes of accidents, equipment malfunctions, product defects, and other mechanical failures. Your findings will help clients make informed decisions and resolve complex legal and insurance matters. Responsibilities Investigate electrical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings. Determine causes of electrical system failures and assess design, construction quality, or maintenance procedures. Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi‑party examinations. Collaborate on large, complex projects within multi‑disciplinary teams. Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations; prepare reports and letters detailing the cause of damage for clients. Provide deposition and expert testimony in product liability for civil, federal, and occasional criminal court cases. Essential Expertise to ensure success Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent discipline. 5+ years’ experience in electrical engineering field. PE in state of employment or ability to obtain one within 12 months. Willingness to travel to clients’ sites (25‑30%); ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions. Elevated Expertise to excel/stand‑out Familiarity with forensic investigation practices and principles. 5 years’ experience evaluating electrical failures in a commercial or industrial setting. Power systems experience (generators, transformers, switchgear, etc.) is a plus; electro‑mechanical experience is desirable. Experience working with lawyers, insurance companies, and adjusters.
