The Prince George's County Office of Information Technology is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Senior Systems Engineer, (Info Tech Engineer 4G) grade G27 position, in the Server Administration Division.

This is advanced professional and technical engineering work involving researching, planning, implementing, and maintaining computer operating systems including upgrades and monitoring system performance; enterprise back-office and messaging platform cloud; middleware; electronic storage and back-up systems in a variety of environments; leads and coordinates the implementation of new systems or systems enhancements collaborating with applications developers and solution providers; supports projects that include integration of products; provides level 2 IT Service desk support; and performs related work as required. Work is performed under the supervision of a higher-level technology engineer and manager, and evaluated in terms of technical adequacy, accuracy, and efficiency as evidenced by compliance and proper system and network functioning; adherence to established timeframes; and compliance with cyber-security requirements.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides support for all of the agencies, departments, and branches of County government. The OIT Service Desk provides information technology support and maintenance services to Prince George's County personnel. The Office of Information Technology is wholly dedicated to aligning technology efforts to support the strategic goals of the County. OIT will provide leadership, expertise, and resources in the ideation, development, and deployment of innovative technologies and streamlined processes to improve government efficiency, business interaction, and citizen access to government information and services.
