Laundry PositionNote: Laundry positions are safety sensitive, requiring the utmost attention of employees to potential safety concerns. The Laundry Facility is non-air conditioned. High humidity, heat, and cold are environmental factors in this facility.Minimum Skills and Abilities Required:Perform physical activities that require moving one's whole body, such as bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling and squatting. Able to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basisAble to stand in excess of 7 hours during a regular shiftMatch or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightnessMake quick, coordinated and repeated movements with fingers, hands, and wrists.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Serves as a representative of Brett/Robinson, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other employees of Brett/Robinson, owners, guests, and other members of the communityControls operations of equipment or systemsWatches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properlyInspects and evaluates the quality of productsStarts washer or drier, and turns valves or levers to regulate and monitor cleaning or drying operationsLoads or directs other workers to load articles into washer or dry-cleaning machineRemoves or directs other workers to remove items from washer and into drierCleans machine filters, keeps laundry machines, floor, and other equipment cleanPre-soaks, sterilizes, scrubs, spot-cleans, and dries contaminated or stained articles, using neutralizer solutionsExamines and sorts articles to be cleaned into lots, according to color, fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique requiredSorts and counts articles removed from dryer and folds or hangs items for airing out, pickup, or delivery.Receives and marks articles for laundry with identifying code number or nameIrons or presses articles pressing machineReports safety hazardsAttends departmental meetingsPerforms other duties as assignedWorking Conditions:Ability to work flexible hours, up to 40 hours per week, 7 days a week; according to seasonal needsWork environment includes exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidly, and coldRegular attendance and punctuality are expected in accordance to company policyI fulfill the minimum skills required and am able to perform the essential functions of this position.
