Railroad Crossing Technician

As a member of DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS), you'll use your skills to help maintain and protect the environment while representing our company's values and reputation. This is a full-time, seasonal role (exact start and end dates may vary based on weather and workload). Our Railroad Crossing Applicators play an important role in applying vegetation control treatments at railroad crossings, ensuring every project is completed to contract specifications with safety as the top priority.

Key responsibilities include filling trucks with water/chemical mix, performing minor weed eating with an industrial weed eater and chainsaw work, pulling and rolling up hose, spraying railroad crossings daily, safely driving and operating spray trucks between crossings, calling MTM for daily job briefings, completing required end-of-day paperwork, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, being 21+ years of age or older, a valid driver's license with at least 5 years of clean driving history, ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check for railroad property access, ability to travel away from home for 46 weeks at a time, flexible schedule, occasionally traveling to offices during breaks for routine truck/equipment maintenance, and compliance with company drug and alcohol policy.

Training provided includes paid training in vegetation identification, chemical usage, safety procedures, application methods, and equipment operation/maintenance.
