Design Project ManagerProject Management/OperationsHouston, TX • Full-Time/RegularPosition SummaryResponsible for the preconstruction process of design-build and design-assist projects. Manages project design and detailing schedule, monitors design development and detailing progress, and manages the financial aspects of the design contract to deliver high-quality projects within the prescribed time frames and costs.Position DetailsManages larger or several smaller design-build and design-assist projects. Ensures the delivery of high-quality projects within the prescribed time frames.Develops and maintains client relationships. Coordinates with cross-functional teams, including other discipline contractors and architects.Communicates and manages project goals and schedules with business development, engineering, estimating, and construction project management. Identifies and assesses risk in all project phases and participates in creation of construction schedules to ensure alignment.Manages all financial aspects of the design contracts (costs, billings and collections) to maintain profitability goals and positive cash flow while maintaining a positive client relationship.Manages cost impact studies or design optimization efforts and works with Operations or design project management for pricing. Coordinates engineering resources to develop conceptual designs to support estimating. Provides engineering support to business development teams during pursuit of projects.Participates in the development of standards, methods, processes and procedures for the engineering department.
