Payroll Clerk

Job Description This payroll clerk position is in Freeport, TX. No Per Diem is offered. Work schedule is Monday thru Thursday from 6:30AM to 5:00PM. Overtime and weekend work as needed. Responsibilities Knowledge of payroll processes required. Distribute, collect, and review timesheets. Verify hours worked, overtime, and leave time. Update and maintain accurate employee records. Compile payroll summaries and other reports as requested. Strong familiarity with spreadsheet applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and payroll/accounting software. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with job site, co-workers, and project management. Accounts payable knowledge. For example, matching of invoices, receivers, and purchase orders. Reply to assigned queries correctly, efficiently and communicates in a timely manner. Complete special projects as required by manager. General office skills. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Must have high school diploma or equivalent Minimum of three years related payroll processing experience. Strict adherence to ethical standards when handling sensitive financial and personal employee data. Solid working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office products Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience using general office equipment and computer programs Deadline driven Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field. Minimum of three years related payroll processing experience.
