Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Summary: The ICU staff nurse is a registered professional responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients within the Intensive Care Unit. The role involves supervising nursing assistants, collaborating with the healthcare team, and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care. Responsibilities: Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans aligned with unit standards and patient needs. Implement nursing interventions and procedures specific to ICU care, adjusting plans based on ongoing evaluations. Supervise nursing assistants, delegate appropriate patient care tasks, and validate completion of assignments. Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of all patient care activities to support team communication. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes, including assisting with procedures such as intubation and line placements. Communicate effectively with patients and families through hourly rounding and bedside reports to promote understanding and engagement. Qualifications: Active Illinois RN license in good standing. Minimum of one (1) year of relevant ICU nursing experience. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association. Demonstrated knowledge of critical care nursing practices and safety procedures. Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to assess patient conditions and respond appropriately.
