The Facility Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center Indian Health Service

The mission of the Sisseton Indian Health Service (Client)/Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center (WWKMHCC) is to provide the best possible healthcare services to the patients on the Lake Traverse Reservation in South Dakota. Location: 100 Lake Traverse Drive, Sisseton, SC 57262.

Position Overview

The Primary Care Physician provides consultative and/or direct medical services within their specialized areas to inpatients and/or outpatients health centers or hospitals. Provides direct care/services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This position reports to the Clinical Director of the facility and:

• Serves as a Physician by performing diagnosis and treatment of patients commensurate within his/her specialty training, education and experience.
• Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling. Examine, qualify, and assist patients in maintaining their health
• Provides direct medical services including diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic services within the specialty.
• Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated
• Ensures appropriate medical records are maintained and updated.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families with multiple health problems and of different background

Requirements:

• License to practice Family Practice or Internal medicine in any state within the United States, District of Columbia or the Common-Wealth of Puerto Rico
• Have completed thirty-six (36) months of Family Practice or Internal Medicine Residency Training with a minimum of six (6) months experience unless otherwise approved by the CCHCF's Credentials Committee.
• There must be no lapse of services of no more than 6 months prior to beginning tour of duty with CCHCF.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) OR American Board of Family Practice (ABFM).
• BLS, ACLS required
