M-1 General Maintenance - Mail Truck

Position Type: Custodial/Maintenance/ M-1 Preventive Maintenance Date Posted: 6/26/2026 Location: District-wide Closing Date: 07/07/2026 Job Description: The Bethlehem Area School District is seeking a dependable and motivated M-1 General Maintenance - Mail Truck employee to perform a wide variety of maintenance, groundskeeping, delivery, and building support duties throughout the District. This is a full‑time, 12‑month position working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Responsibilities Safely operate District vehicles to transport mail, supplies, furniture, equipment, and materials between schools and facilities. Load, unload, receive, inspect, and distribute deliveries while maintaining accurate inventory and shipping records. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including inspections, lubrication, filter replacement, cleaning, and minor repairs. Maintain school grounds and athletic fields through mowing, landscaping, litter removal, snow removal, and seasonal maintenance. Operate trucks, tractors, lifts, hoists, winches, and other maintenance equipment safely and efficiently. Prepare and maintain athletic fields, including field lining and event area setup. Prepare surfaces for painting and perform interior and exterior painting projects while maintaining safe work areas. Utilize hand and power tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks. Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, equipment, and materials. Keep District vehicles and equipment clean and report maintenance needs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to emergency maintenance needs. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Basic knowledge of maintenance practices, equipment, and hand and power tools. Ability to successfully complete any required employment testing. New Hire Starting Salary: $34.05 per hour
