CNC Applications Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Large Machine Tool Lead (Applications Engineer) .

In this elite, travel-based position, you will be the premier subject matter expert for our largest machine platforms, including large boring mills, double-column bridge mills, and massive HMCs/VMCs . This is a prestigious leadership role where you will drive machine setup, prove-outs, and ISO accuracy test cuts directly at customer sites, acting as a vital link between our cutting-edge technology and heavy-industry titans.

responsibilities:

• Serve as the Lead Subject Matter Expert: Act as the primary technical authority for heavy-duty platforms, including:
  • Double Column Machines (Bridge Mills)

  • Boring Mills

  • Large Vertical & Horizontal Machining Centers (VMCs/HMCs)

  • Vertical Turning Centers

• Lead Turnkeys & Prove-Outs: Own hands-on machine setup, part alignment, and complex process validation at client facilities. Perform critical ISO accuracy test cuts to ensure flawless machine calibration.

• Optimize Heavy Machining: Develop and refine cutting strategies for heavy-duty metal removal, massive work envelopes, and challenging, high-strength materials.

• Drive Pre-Sales Technical Strategy: Partner with sales and clients on application feasibility reviews, machine selection, and complex configuration recommendations.

• Collaborate Globally: Support technical coordination with engineering headquarters to align on specialized machine configurations, custom options, and unique project requirements.
