About the Opportunity

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals while ensuring efficient, timely, and friendly service to residents and team members. This role maintains sanitation and food safety standards, follows recipes and dietary guidelines, assists with inventory management, and contributes to a positive dining experience that meets or exceeds resident expectations.

The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional service through nutritious and appealing meals.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as assigned.
• Follow recipes and production guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Maintain compliance with community, state, and local food safety regulations.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating inventory.
• Prepare meals according to resident dietary needs and restrictions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Work collaboratively with the Food Service Director and other team members to provide an excellent dining experience.
• Support resident satisfaction through professional, courteous service.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of cooking experience, including quantity cooking and short-order cooking preferred.
• ServSafe Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Previous experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant settings preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong customer service skills and commitment to resident satisfaction.
• Required CBRF Certifications: Standard Precautions, First Aide & Choking, & Fire Safety
• Strong commitment to resident safety, food quality, and exceptional service.
