Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Boston Consulting Group’s BCG X Forward Deployed AI Engineer role supports the end-to-end creation of AI solutions across the analytics value chain. You’ll work on building and deploying scalable systems, partner directly with clients on new innovations, and contribute to scientific and industry knowledge through thought leadership and conferences.

What you’ll do

• Own the full analytics value-chain end to end, from framing business challenges and designing innovative algorithms to implementing, deploying, and helping colleagues and clients adopt AI.
• Build next-generation AI solutions as part of BCG X’s rapidly growing engineering team.
• Partner with clients across BCG regions and industries to design, build, and deploy new and innovative solutions.
• Develop and deliver thought leadership in scientific communities and papers.
• Lead conferences on behalf of BCG X.
• Interact directly with clients on new features for future product releases.

Key requirements

• Use software development practices and standards to create robust, maintainable software.
• Participate across every stage of the software development life cycle.
• Experience guiding non-technical teams and consultants in best practices for robust software development.
• Optimize and enhance computational efficiency of algorithms and software design.
• Be comfortable in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment with direct client interaction on future product features.
• Enjoy collaborating in teams to share software design and solution ideas.
• Be a strong problem-solver with intellectual curiosity across a breadth of industries and topics.
• Live within a reasonable commuting distance of the home office.
• Complete degree programs (including part-time) before starting at BCG.

Compensation

Annual salary range: USD 120,000 - 200,000 .

• Forward Deployed AI Engineer I: $120,000
• Forward Deployed AI Engineer II: $155,000
• Forward Deployed AI Engineer III: $171,000
• Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer: $200,000
