Experienced Fire Alarm Technician

Axcex Media LLC is hiring an experienced Fire Alarm Technician for installation, service, troubleshooting, and commissioning work.

This is a field-based position based in South Florida supporting customer locations throughout Florida and other markets we serve. This is not a fixed-jobsite or local-only position. Regional and overnight travel will be required based on project needs.

What You’ll Do

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial fire alarm systems
• Diagnose wiring, power, communication, programming, and device problems
• Work with control panels, power supplies, relays, modules, initiating devices, and notification appliances
• Address, test, and verify fire alarm devices and circuits
• Read drawings, risers, wiring diagrams, and project documentation
• Properly install, terminate, label, and test cabling
• Assist with inspections, testing, commissioning, and system documentation
• Document completed work and communicate problems clearly
• Coordinate professionally with customers, other trades, and project teams

Experience with system programming, commissioning, inspections, testing, or manufacturer-specific platforms is highly valued.

NICET certification is a plus, but demonstrated ability matters more.

What We’re Looking For

We want a technician who understands the fire alarm systems—not someone whose experience is limited to pulling cable.

You should be able to approach a problem logically, troubleshoot it, complete the work correctly, and represent Axcex professionally in front of our customers.

Fire alarm will be your primary area of responsibility, but Axcex supports multiple low-voltage systems. You must be willing to receive training and assist with access control, CCTV, and related systems as workload requires. Prior experience with these systems is a plus but is not required.

Requirements include:

• Hands-on commercial fire alarm experience
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass required background checks and drug testing
• Compliance with our 100% tobacco-free workplace policy
• Ability to perform physical installation work and work at heights
• Ability to lift and handle tools, ladders, equipment, and materials
• Professional appearance and conduct
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn additional low-voltage systems
• Willingness to travel when required
