OR RN Circulator Job Breakdown

Unit: Surgery / Operating Room (13 OR Suites)
Shift: 5x10 Days (11:00 AM – 9:00 PM)
Weekly Hours: 40 hrs
Charting: EPIC
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks

Core Responsibilities

• Circulating Surgical Cases: ~22–24 hrs/week
  Coordinate and manage patient care throughout surgical procedures while maintaining safety and sterile standards.
• Orthopedic & Robotics Cases: ~8–10 hrs/week
  Support orthopedic procedures and da Vinci robotic surgeries.
• Perioperative Patient Care: ~4–5 hrs/week
  Patient preparation, positioning, documentation, specimen handling, and post-procedure handoff.
• Documentation & Team Coordination: ~3–4 hrs/week
  EPIC charting, surgeon communication, case documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Call Coverage: Variable
  Participate in 3–6 call shifts per month .

Key Requirements

• Active RN License
• BLS required
• Minimum 2 years OR experience
• da Vinci Robotics experience required
• Orthopedic experience required
• Circulator experience required

⭐ Preferred Experience

• Vascular surgery experience
• Trauma surgery exposure
• Experience in high-volume OR settings

• Performs nearly all surgical specialties except:
  • LVAD procedures
  • Organ transplants
  • Pediatric cases under 14 years old
• Large surgical team with 80+ FTEs

Flexible, team-oriented candidates will be most successful in this role.
