Travel Nurse RN - Behavioral Health - $3,014 per week

Talent4Health is seeking a travel nurse RN Behavioral Health for a travel nursing job in Bangor, Maine.

Job Description & Requirements

Beds: 94 – Peds 50 – beds; Adults – 44

• Minimum years of experience required: 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing required
  • Pediatric BH exp preferred – send to manager for approval if candidate does not have Peds experience
• Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
  Required Certifications:
• BLS
• MOAB is obtained on site (part of orientation)
• ME State License
  Skills required:
• De-escalation experience, experience with physical restraints (chemical restraints are NOT used), medication passes, comfortability to run groups, documentation
• Traveler may have the opportunity to act as Charge, but this is not required
  Floating: If yes, where?
• Yes, between all units – Adults and Peds
  • If traveler is not comfortable with floating to Peds – please request manager approval to offer
    Scheduling:
    • Weekend rotation: every other; Sat/Sun
    • Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
    • No call
    • OT is available
    • Holiday Expectations: expected to work holidays in rotation
    • Approval of time off? up to 7 days, must extend to accommodate if unable to work all shifts within a week
    • Schedule Cycle: Modified self-scheduling – travelers will sign up for preferred shifts, manager/scheduler will review to ensure all shifts are covered and adjust accordingly. Will be informed when it is time to sign up for shifts. If traveler does not sign up during that time, will be automatically assigned vacant shifts. Will have predetermined weekend rotation.
  • Other notes:
    • Scrub Color: any solid color; must be professional
    • Free Parking? Yes
    • During the winter: Heavy snow conditions expected
    • Please convey during interview: If there is an escalation, there is a “code leader” who will assign roles to other staff while code leader is verbally de-escalating patient. Travelers could function as the code leader. Debriefing form should be completed after. Management will also round to code situations to assist. MOAB will be reviewed again when on site. Travelers should speak up if they need more practice with de-escalations. Scenario-based training every other week for practice if needed. MOAB Educator/Trainer on site.
