Mechanical Designer

We have an outstanding Contract position for a Mechanical Designer to join a leading Company located in the Pawcatuck, CT surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $40 - $58

Provide mechanical design support for custom industrial machinery, including new machine development, customer orders, and engineering changes.

Responsibilities:

• Create/revise 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings
• Design assemblies, weldments, sheet metal, and machined components
• Develop and maintain BOMs
• Support standardization and legacy design updates
• Implement engineering changes
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing

Basic Hiring Criteria:

• Minimum 5 years of experience designing industrial capital equipment
• SolidWorks proficiency
• Manufacturing drawings and GD&T
• BOM and PDM/PLM experience
• Self-directed in an ETO environment

Desired Qualifications:

• Plastics extrusion or converting equipment
• Web, wire, and cable conveyance handling
• Design for manufacturing and assembly
