The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting physician with patient care in compliance with the Ohio Administrative Code. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, routine clinical and administrative duties as needed to meet the needs of the practice to which it is assigned. The duties of the Medical Assistant vary from office to office based on size and specialty of the practice.\n \n Responsibilities And Duties: \n Facilitates efficient and effective patient flow including preparing thepatient for the visitand providingspecific services as determined byproviders in accordance withproviderlicensure, OHpolicyand scope of practice.\n \nSuccessful completion of Care Connect EMR documentation skills.\n \nPerforms necessary administrative duties that assure all information is current and updated. Includes maintenance and monitoring of EMRin basket.\n \nMaintains and cleans environment, work area, equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriatedept/unit personnel.\n \nCommunicates with patients and customers in a respectful and caring manner. \n \nCommunicates, collaborates, and anticipates the needs of the health care team to ensure continuity and quality of care and coordination of services.\n \nCollects andmonitors patient data; reportspatient data and patient need as directed.\n \nMaintainsdocumentation guidelines aroundpatient chargeable items/services.\n \nEnsuresprocesses and services are continuously monitored for quality, cost effectiveness,and efficiency.\n \nEngages in process and quality improvement activities.
