CADD Technician

CADD Technician / DesignerA multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking an experienced CADD Technician / Designer to join its team in Lexington, Kentucky. This position will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other design professionals to develop detailed drawings and construction documents for a variety of civil and infrastructure projects.The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple design priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and develop detailed CADD drawings and construction documents for civil and infrastructure projectsAssist project managers and engineers with conceptual development through final designUtilize Civil 3D and AutoCAD to create and modify project drawingsDevelop site layouts, grading plans, utility plans, profiles, and other civil design documentsCreate and work with Civil 3D surfaces and gradingCoordinate drawings and design information with engineers, project managers, and other project disciplinesAssist with the preparation of project specifications and supporting documentationPrepare construction quantities and assist with opinions of probable costAssist with documentation required for permitting and regulatory approvalsCreate, maintain, and improve CADD templates, standards, and stylesReview drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standardsMaintain accurate project files and design documentationAssist with the continued improvement and standardization of CADD processes and best practicesStay current with CADD software, tools, updates, and industry practicesQualificationsVocational certificate or Associate's degree in Civil Technology, CADD, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline preferred5+ years of relevant CADD/design experience preferredExtensive hands-on design experience may be considered in place of formal educationCurrent AutoCAD and Civil 3D expertise requiredExperience with Civil 3D surfaces and gradingExperience creating and setting up CADD templates and stylesStrong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical documentsArcGIS experience is a plusField survey experience is a plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a project teamStrong problem-solving skills and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality workDesire to continue developing technical skills and stay current with evolving design technologyBenefitsMedical insuranceDental insurance401(k)Professional development opportunitiesOpportunities for long-term career growth Coastal Wave Recruiting
