IT Assistant - 100% On-Site

Location: Buchanan, NY - 100% on-site position. (Not remote)

Reports to: IT Manager

Pay: $25 – $30 per hour DOE

Shift: Mon - Fri, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Position Overview

JP McHale Pest Management is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy IT Assistant to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting technology issues, helping others, and working in a collaborative environment.

The IT Assistant will provide day-to-day technical support to employees across the organization, helping to ensure reliable access to systems, hardware, software, and applications. This role will support both daily IT operations and ongoing technology initiatives.

Essential Job Functions and Duties

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, printers, and network-related issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely manner
• Assist with computer setup, user accounts, password resets, and equipment configuration
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding from an IT perspective
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and technology assets
• Assist with software updates, system maintenance, and security practices
• Document support issues and maintain basic technical documentation
• Support the IT team with ongoing projects and company initiatives

Experience, Education, and Skills Required

• Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology or related field
• Basic knowledge of operating systems, Microsoft Office, hardware, and networking
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous IT support or help desk experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 environments
• Experience with inventory tracking or ticketing systems
