Senior Scientist, Immunology

Biogen seeks a Senior Scientist in Immunology to lead drug discovery efforts targeting inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The role combines basic research, translational science, and therapeutic innovation, requiring expertise in immune cell biology, assay development, and target validation.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute innovative in vitro and in vivo studies investigating inflammatory and autoimmune disease mechanisms
- Identify and validate novel drug targets, biomarkers, and immune pathways relevant to immune-mediated disorders
- Develop, optimize, and implement immunological assays using primary immune cells and disease-relevant model systems
- Analyze complex datasets and communicate scientific findings through presentations, conferences, and publications
- Contribute to program strategy by identifying scientific gaps and evaluating emerging therapeutic opportunities
Requirements
- PhD in Immunology, Cellular/Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or related field; or MS/BS with 6+/8+ years industry experience
- Strong expertise in immune cell biology, cytokine signaling, and immunological assay development
- Hands-on experience with flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR/RNA-seq, and functional genomics approaches
- Demonstrated ability to isolate, culture, and profile primary human or murine immune cells
- Experience designing and executing in vivo and ex vivo inflammation and autoimmunity models
- Strong analytical and scientific communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally
