Bus Driver

Overview: Boyne City Public Schools is seeking dynamic, dedicated Bus Drivers to safely transport our students. Key Responsibilities: Obeys all traffic laws. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses. Maintains discipline among students on the bus. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority through established procedures. Maintains the bus interior in a clean condition (sweeping daily and cleaning mirrors, lights, windshields, and rear windows). Reports damage to the Director of Transportation. Checks the bus before each operation for mechanical defects, proper fluid levels, and ensures the bus is fueled. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness. Discharges students only at authorized stops. Transports only authorized students. Reports all accidents and completes required reports. Obeys and enforces all State and school district policies, rules, regulations, and procedures. Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation within the constraints of the Master Agreement. Reports to: Director of Transportation Qualifications & Experience: Required: A valid Michigan license to drive a school bus with all required endorsements. Additional health and experience requirements as the State and Board may require. Secure and maintain certification from the School Bus Driver Safety Program.
