Accountant | Contract to Hire

Location: Phoenix, AZ

We are seeking a detail oriented Accountant to support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with month end close. This contract to hire opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating with a team, solving problems, and taking ownership of their work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and prepaid expenses.
\n
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
\n
• Assist with month end and year end close.
\n
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
\n
• Prepare financial reports and investigate discrepancies.
\n
• Maintain organized documentation and support audit requests.
\n
• Assist with fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules.
\n
• Follow internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.
\n
• Partner with other departments to resolve billing and accounting questions.
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
\n
• Two or more years of relevant accounting experience.
\n
• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
\n
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month end close.
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
\n
• Experience using accounting software or an ERP system.
\n
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow through.
\n
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and communicate effectively.
\n
