The position will be assigned to the School of Nursing and Allied Health, located on the Downtown Campus, 700 E. Jackson Street. The Nursing Faculty member is responsible for providing high-quality instruction primarily in clinical and laboratory settings within the nursing program. The position supports the College’s mission by delivering effective instruction, advising students, and participating in departmental and college service activities. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, and weekend classes and may be located across multiple campuses and off-campus clinical sites. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications A graduate degree, preferably with a major in nursing; orA baccalaureate degree and be actively enrolled in a graduate program. An unrestricted Registered Nurse’s license. Minimum of two (2) years of direct client care nursing experience or its equivalent within the past five (5) years or two (2) years of full-time teaching in nursing education or its equivalent (30 credits is equal to 1 year). Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Additional Considerations Minimum two (2) years of recent teaching experience in a nursing program. Experience in psychiatric mental health nursing. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in both didactic and clinical settings, including course development, student assessment, course evaluations and advising. Education to include principles of teaching and learning. Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology routinely into instructional responsibilities (multimedia, flipped classroom teaching strategies, and test construction). Demonstrated understanding of concept-based teaching principles. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations in an urban setting. Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel This position requires regular travel to multiple campus locations and off-campus clinical sites to support clinical and laboratory instruction.
