Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist, you will:

Support the acquisition of data, combine and prepare data for analytic needs, plan and execute the analysis of data, generate diagnostics, compare model results, and advise on a range of decisions that produce the most desirable set of outcomes.

Play a key role in broad data research projects of major policy importance, difficulty, and complexity, directed toward significant problems relating to goals and mission of BFS.

Work with members of BFS to identify appropriate business solutions to the clients challenges, translates those solutions into conceptual analytic approaches, and work with teams to execute.

Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as other government agencies, OMB, internal Bureau of the Fiscal Service staff, Treasury staff, Federal Reserve Banks, and with strategic partners to ensure financial data is of good quality, establish new partners for collaboration, and collaborate with Product Owners, when applicable.
