Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee and support the full cycle processing of multiple payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Oversight of payroll transactions such as direct deposit file transfer, weekly payment of all payroll taxes, ensuring timely submissions of all payroll wires and check requests
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to payroll staff, including assisting with workload prioritization, problem resolution, training, and adherence to payroll procedures.
• Resolve payroll issues and discrepancies, using sound judgment and analytical skills to identify root causes and appropriate solutions.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations and collective bargaining agreements
• Maintain and update union and payroll reference documentation
• Collaborate closely with Payroll/HR Management, IT, and Accounting/Finance to resolve payroll issues and support system enhancements
• Support administration and tracking of employee leave programs
• Assist with payroll audits, reporting, system upgrades, testing, and process improvement initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Foundational payroll knowledge such as gross to net, taxable earnings, imputed earnings, FLSA
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and critical deadlines
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including handling sensitive employee situations professionally
• Ability to communicate payroll matters clearly to employees, management, and cross-functional partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree/Accounting concentration
• Working experience with Oracle PeopleSoft HCM and Payroll for North America or experience with similar systems
• Experience supporting payroll transitions, or system conversions/implementations

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $65,000 – $84,000.

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of pay that National Fuel believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job. The specific base pay offered to a successful applicant will be based primarily on relevant professional experience. Other components that may be considered include: individual qualifications, licensures, industry specific experience, education and market demands for specialized skills. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. Exempt positions will also be eligible for an Annual Cash Bonus Plan.
