Senior Maintenance Mechanic - RefmSalary Range: $40,153.93 - $44,169.32 Annually $1,544.38 - $1,698.82 BiweeklyThe hiring salary may exceed the maximum posted salary.Specific Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Maintenance Mechanic installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC and refrigeration systems, including air-conditioning units, heat pumps, and chillers. This role involves diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, interpreting schematics, and ensuring compliance with industry standards while also mentoring team members. This position may require bending, squatting or standing for extended periods of time and may require lifting of up to 50 pounds.Position RequirementsA valid Florida Driver's License. Corrective Lenses Restricted license are acceptable provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating a state vehicle. Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs with or without accommodation. Must have two (2) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of air-conditioning and refrigeration. Vocational/Technical training in air-conditioning and heating mechanics may substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of experience. Must be able to work in tight spaces and/or on the rooftop. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, climb, for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to exert up to 30 pounds of force frequently. This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesKnowledge of: the principles and techniques of skilled mechanical repair work. Safety procedures that are required in maintenance and repair work. Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Conducting tests to determine whether equipment or software are operating as expected. Controlling operations of equipment or systems. Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Mechanical systems operation, troubleshooting, and repair, i.e., chillers, boilers ahu's, variable frequency drives, variable air volume systems, pumps, and motors. Procedures and methods for installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems, refrigeration, and air-conditioning units and component parts.Ability to: install, maintain, and repair freezers, coolers, chillers, condensers, air handlers, washers, dryers, and window units. Perform a variety of skilled trades functions. Read blueprints and schematic drawings. Operate, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems, i.e., chillers, boilers, ahu's, variable frequency drives and air volume systems, pumps, and motors. Identify and repair electronic malfunctions in electronic equipment. Understand and follow written or verbal technical instructions relating to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment, and maintenance tasks. Plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Communicate effectively. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Skills in: use tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work. Use specialized tools and equipment to install, maintain, and repair electronic equipment. And has the ability to use hand tools. Installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration units and components. Estimating quantities and providing required purchasing documents for material and has the ability to work with test meters.
