ForemanThe foreman oversees interior finish work on commercial projects and tenant turnovers within approximately a 30-mile radius of Dane County. This role works independently or leads a small crew of 1–3 people, focusing primarily on finish painting and related tasks on new commercial properties and turnover units.ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise a small crew of 1–3 field employees on commercial job sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.Perform and oversee interior finish painting on new commercial projects and tenant turnovers, including detailed finish work.Carry out general labor tasks on commercial job sites, including lifting materials up to 50 lbs. repeatedly and supporting various construction and restoration activities.Execute restoration-related work as needed, including basic cleanup and large-scale cleanups in commercial buildings and facilities.Work both independently and as part of a crew to complete drywall, sheetrock, sanding, drywall finishing, framing, and finish carpentry tasks as required.Follow specific instructions, safety rules, and project plans, and communicate clearly and consistently with supervisors and team members.Remain open and willing to assist in other departments and job duties, contributing to a versatile "do it all" field labor culture with variety in weekly tasks.Maintain flexibility with work hours, including 10-hour shifts when needed and occasional Saturday morning work, to meet project timelines and customer needs.Participate in a rotating on-call schedule after being hired directly, responding to after-hours calls as part of a two-person crew.Adhere to all safety protocols and site-specific requirements when working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions across different commercial properties.Support scheduling needs by being available for on-call assignments and coordinating with the team to ensure adequate coverage.Contribute to a professional work environment by maintaining clean, organized job sites and presenting a reliable, customer-focused attitude.Essential SkillsExperience working on commercial job sites in a general labor or construction capacity.Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.Strong communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions, adhere to safety rules, and report back clearly to management.Willingness to work 40–50 hours per week with flexibility for 10-hour shifts when needed.Ability to maintain flexible end times during the week and work occasional Saturday mornings.Comfort working both independently and as a leader of a small crew on commercial projects.Openness to supporting multiple departments and job duties in a versatile field labor role.Reliability and readiness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule after being hired directly.Additional Skills & QualificationsHands-on experience with restoration work in commercial or disaster restoration environments.Skills in drywall installation, sheetrock work, sanding, and drywall finishing.Experience with framing and finish carpentry on commercial projects.Background in painting, particularly interior finish painting on commercial properties and apartment complexes.Interest in obtaining restoration-related certifications, which can lead to pay increases.Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks and project types, from basic cleanup to detailed finish work.Why Work Here?Employees enjoy steady weekly hours with opportunities for overtime and performance-based pay reviews at 60 days, 6 months, 1 year, and annually thereafter.
