This relies on systems engineering principles to design and implement solutions that span the data lifecycle to: collect, ingest, process, store, persist, access, and deliver data at scale and at speed. It includes knowledge of local, distributed, and cloud-based technologies; data virtualization and smart caching; and all security and authentication mechanisms required to protect the data.Build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate unorganized data into databases or data sources that are ready for analysis; Design and implement data solutions by defining functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications; Work through all stages of a data solution lifecycle, e.g., analyze / profile data, create conceptual, logical and physical data model designs, architect and design ETL, reporting and analytics; Maintain data systems performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; Define standards, best practices, and certification processes for data objectsBasic Qualifications• Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, including 3+ years supporting AI/ML systems - traditional business intelligence and data warehousing concepts (ETL, data modeling, and reporting) • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data/system architecture • Experience in gathering requirements and understanding business processes • Strong proficiency in Python or NiFi or SQL • Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark or similar) • Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines at scale • Understanding of data security principles, including encryption, access control • Familiar with Safe Agile frameworkDesired Skills• Experience designing and building ontologies, taxonomies, or knowledge graphs • Demonstrate ability to establish strong team relationships and deliver an exceptional customer experience • Excellent organizational, time management, analytical and problem-solving skills • Master's degree in a related technical fieldPay InformationGeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States.
