Construction Sales Consultant

Overview Morton Buildings, Inc. is the industry leader in post‑frame construction. With more than 120 years of experience and over 10 plants across the United States, we deliver high‑quality, patented “Morton M” buildings that lead the market. This full‑time Sales Consultant role is focused on expanding market share, cultivating new customer relationships, and driving end‑to‑end construction projects from pre‑sale to completion. Responsibilities This role is ~70% focused on pre‑sale activities and includes: Prospecting, lead generation, and customer presentations Solution development and guiding customers through the early stages of the buying process Managing a consistent sales pipeline in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Identifying and fostering opportunities in Mason City, IA; Waterloo, IA; Lansing, IA; and Decorah, IA Coordinating post‑sale project details, communicating with internal teams, and supporting the build through completion Additionally, the role requires: Ability to develop and maintain an adequate sales funnel to meet or exceed established sales budgets Adaptability to long‑term changes in the construction industry and evolving market needs Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills Dynamic project coordination, including subcontractor management and permitting requirements Respect for customer confidentiality Qualifications Minimum 2 years of sales or account management experience (preferred) OR 5 years of construction management experience Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, construction, or project management preferred; must be proficient with Microsoft Office and maintain an accurate, organized sales pipeline within Microsoft Dynamics CRM Minimal overnight travel beyond initial training and onboarding period Ability to reside within 30 miles of the assigned territory within 30 days of hire date Adaptability to fast‑changing construction industry and multi‑market needs Training and Support Morton Buildings provides structured, comprehensive training and ongoing support during the early years of a Sales Consultant’s career to ensure long‑term success and confidence.
