At BDC, you will join a mission-driven team committed to shaping a more vibrant, equitable, and economically resilient Baltimore. We value collaboration, innovation, accountability, and a deep connection to the communities we serve.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data tracking tools.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills, with experience working with public, private, or nonprofit stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Baltimore’s economic and civic landscape and familiarity with the Mayor’s strategic priorities is a strong plus.
- Support commercial and mixed-use real estate development projects from early planning through implementation
- Assist with developer coordination, project tracking, and milestone management
- Conduct preliminary feasibility analyses, market research, and financial reviews
- Support zoning, permitting, and municipal approval processes
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Assist in monitoring BDC-owned or managed commercial properties

- Support tenant coordination and property improvement initiatives
- Maintain project files, databases, and performance metrics
- Support neighborhood-based investment initiatives and priority area projects
- Coordinate with community organizations, developers, and residents to advance equitable development goals
- Assist with anti-displacement and inclusive development strategies
- Participate in community meetings, site visits, and stakeholder engagements
- Collaborate with BDC business development, marketing, finance, and planning teams
- Support data collection and reporting on community and economic impact
- Represent BDC in meetings as assigned
- Support senior staff. Though this role has no direct reports, the Economic Development Officer works under the guidance of senior real estate staff, contributing analysis and coordination support on complex development projects.
- Coordinate across teams. Partner with the Business Development, Marketing, Finance, and Planning teams to support data collection and reporting on community and economic impact.
