Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown experience and a Missouri or compact RN license.

Details

• (3 South Cardiac Medical Intermediate) unit in a hospital setting
• 32-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:3-1:4
• Cares for post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomy, respiratory failure, and chest pain patients
• Uses chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAP equipment
• Charts in EPIC EMR
• Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
• Requires working every other weekend as needed by facility
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
• Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire orientation week

Requirements

• Active RN license eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri (Standard or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from AHA required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Cardiac Stepdown experience required
• Must have no employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care provided by other caregivers
• Uphold patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with facility mission and values
• Flu vaccination (or Mercy-approved exemption) required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, with no declinations accepted
• Dress code requires all-black scrubs with Mercy logo; hoodies, non-logo jackets, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, earbuds, and fake nails are not permitted
• RTO of up to 5 days allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced bill rate
• Local candidates are restricted to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer outside the 50-mile radius
• Facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center and Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center
