Outpatient Lactation Consultant RN

As a mother cares for their newborn baby, the Outpatient Lactation Consultant RN will provide expert consultation and support. You will conduct in-person and telehealth nursing visits as you counsel families on infant feeding, lactation initiation and maintenance and overcoming challenges. You will support and maintain employee lactation projects and serve as a lactation resource throughout ProMedica and in your community.

Requirements

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing
• Skills: Experience in quality improvement and evidence-based practice implementation and evaluation. Experience in educational program development. Experience in adult education utilizing principles of teaching and learning.
• Years of Experience: At least 3-4 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably two of which are in maternal-child nursing or a related field.
• License: Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio (RN)
• Certification: International Board Certified Lactation Consultant preferred, related certifications considered on individualized basis

Preferred Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Skills: Previous experience with developing and delivering staff education. Previous experience as an outpatient nurse preferred.
• Years of Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a lactation counselor, consultant, or peer
