Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical unit plans, organizes, directs, and provides holistic care for patients. The role involves utilizing the nursing process to evaluate total patient care needs and executing directives from professional and regulatory bodies. Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical health and needs through comprehensive evaluations.
- Deliver age-appropriate patient care while adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Coordinate discharge planning and patient-family education.
- Accurately document patient information in electronic medical records.
- Delegate tasks appropriately among other care providers within the department.
- Minimum one year of hospital nursing experience is required.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) is preferred.
- Current Minnesota RN license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required within one year of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification required within one year of hire.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) Certification required within one year of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification is required.
