Manager, Regional Security Operations

If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you. The Manager will report to and support the Director, Central Region, Regional Security Operations (RSO). This position supports Central Region security operations while providing meaningful HQ (Las Colinas) security support in partnership with the Senior Manager, RSO. The role is designed to build operational depth and continuity at HQ while contributing to regional priorities such as investigations support, audits, and security program execution. This person will work collaboratively with the Senior Manager and Director, Regional Security Operations and other members of the Global Security & Safety (GSS) team to successfully build, maintain, and strategically influence relationships across all areas of the company (HR/ER, Communications, Meeting & Events Services, Legal, Internal Audit, Compliance and Real Estate), while championing GSS initiatives. This role includes a deliberate development path to build bench strength and future HQ continuity, working alongside the Senior Manager, RSO while maintaining clear role boundaries and ownership. Key Responsibilities (List the top five to seven essential responsibilities in priority order.) 1. Support oversight of contracted security services at HQ under the direction of the Director, RSO and in coordination with the Senior Manager, RSO. Provide support for a contracted security force that is responsible for building access control, monitoring electronic security systems and the protection of occupants. Assist with the management of the relationship with the contract security service company to ensure proper staffing and service requirements. Participate in weekly meetings with on-site supervision. Guard force oversight is intended to be supporting in nature and not the primary defining responsibility of the role. 20% 2. At the direction of the Director, RSO, conduct preliminary/basic investigations involving thefts, threats, fraud, workplace violence and others as required. Provide tactical support as necessary to Senior Manager, RSO. Assist with regional site security operations and provide tactical support as needed to other McKesson locations. Assist with and conduct Site Security Audits as required. 20% 3. Monitor the day-to-day use of the campus electronic security systems, which includes access control, intrusion detection and video monitoring systems. Manage the site’s ID badge program. Coordinate regular testing of all ESS equipment. Conduct initial troubleshooting and repair. Report issues for repair as needed. Coordinate with Facilities and Meeting & Events to ensure procedures are followed regarding the receipt of guests and granting of appropriate access privileges. 20% 4. Coordinate with Global Security Executive Protection team (and Meeting and Events teams as appropriate) for all senior executive, Board of Director, and VIP visits. Conduct basic intelligence gathering for possible security concerns in the area. Identify vulnerabilities that impact the security and safety of people, and property. Lead data analytics for the Regional Security Operations team to highlight achievements. 20% 5. Ensure campus security plan is up to date and implemented in order to mitigate known risks and vulnerabilities. Ensure campus emergency action and emergency response plans are up to date. Participate in annual training and response efforts. Conduct security orientation and quarterly awareness campaigns. Maintain a liaison relationship with local law enforcement, state and federal agencies. Respond to after-hour campus incidents, as necessary. 20% Total = 100% Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): Education/Training: Bachelor’s Degree 5 Years Security Experience 2 Years Security Experience in Corporate, Government or Military Environments 2 Years Supervisory Experience Business Experience/Specialized Knowledge/Skills: Unquestionable integrity Exercise sound judgement and show a mature critical thought process Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Display appropriate sensitivity to the sometimes-confidential nature of the work Self-starter, who has strong internal drive and sense of urgency that can work well under pressure Interpersonal and people skills necessary to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels Leadership skills necessary to command confidence and actions in others during daily operations and crisis situations Assertive with a firm understanding of striking a balance between business and security Gather and critically evaluate information and prepare action plans that clearly and concisely identify the issues presented and their proposed solution Excellent written and verbal communications skills as it is imperative to develop, summarize and deliver complex ideas in a way that is understood and appreciated by multiple audiences Experience working in a large, matrixed institutional setting Experience in the healthcare industry preferred Demonstrated expertise in implementing and advancing data analytics procedures and methodologies High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other web-based applications Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and meet project timelines and milestones Ability to research, plan and conduct training in all areas associated with the protection of people, property and brand Ability to create an annual personal and professional development plan Stay abreast of current events both locally and nationally and anticipate actions required to minimize effects on business operations Working Conditions: Environment: Hybrid - at McKesson office locations with some WFH when available Physical Requirements: General office demands May require up to 20-25% travel, based on business and operational needs 24/7 availability for emergency response and incident support (This description is general in nature and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
