Vice President/Director, Business Development - Antenna Technologies

Communications & Power Industries (CPI), a U.S.-based leader in SATCOM Antenna systems is seeking a results-driven executive to lead Business Development and Strategic Growth across its Antenna Technologies businesses. This executive will define capture strategies, expand market share across defense and space programs, and directly shape customer engagement around domain experience in space operations, satellite communications, and ground infrastructure.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn and execute the business development and go-to-market strategy for the AntennaTechnologies product lines supporting defense, space, and scientific sectorsDevelop and execute multi-year capture strategies with prime integrators, U.S. Government customers, Commercial end users and international allies.Align go-to-market strategy with R&D priorities and next-generation power platform roadmapsIdentify adjacent market opportunities for existing product platforms and influence R&D direction through customer inputEngage directly with senior customer decision-makers, primes, integrators, and system architects to secure long-term positions on programs of recordAlign business development initiatives with engineering, supply chain, and production capacity across multiple U.S. and international sitesCoordinate closely with operations and engineering to ensure proposal feasibility, production readiness, and supply-chain alignmentInfluence pricing, value proposition articulation, and trade-study inputs on active bids and new pursuitsCANDIDATE PROFILE15+ years of experience in business development, strategic capture, or P&L leadership in aerospace, defense, or adjacent technologiesDemonstrated success growing a business focused on antenna systems, RF/microwave electronics, or secure communications hardwareDeep understanding of customer needs in radar, EW, ISR, and C4ISR applicationsFamiliarity with phased-array, dish, reflector, and conformal antenna technologiesAbility to partner effectively with engineers, program managers, and operational leadersFluent in U.S. defense acquisition; ITAR/EAR aware; clearance-eligible (Secret required; TS preferred)Bachelor's degree required; engineering or physics background preferred; MBA or advanced degree is a plusMust be a U.S. Citizen.CULTURAL FITMission-driven and customer-focused: Understands how antenna performance, form factors, and SWaP-C constraints shape end missionsCollaborative & grounded: Operates well across functions; builds trust with functional teamsPrivate-equity velocity: Navigates high-growth, acquisition-rich environments with urgency and rigorExport-aware: Confident working with global customers, offset partners, and export-controlled technologiesCustomer-centered: Adept at navigating primes, program offices, and end users to create pull for specific power technologiesExecution-driven: Brings a “factory-first” mindset—balances pursuit energy with capacity, cost, and delivery realismHigh-urgency, low-ego: Works lean and hands-on; quickly earns trust from engineers and executives alikeGrowth mindset: Operates like a business unit leader—drives pipeline, margin, and long-range growthSHAPING THE FUTURE THROUGH INNOVATION AND DISCOVERY!With a history spanning more than seven decades, Communications & Power Industries’ thousands of products have impacted people’s lives in numerous unseen ways every day.
