Senior Plant Accountant

LaSalle Network is hiring for a Senior Plant Accountant with an established manufacturing organization in the Mundelein area. This direct-hire opportunity is ideal for an experienced Senior Plant Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys owning key accounting processes while partnering with operations and leadership teams to support business growth.


The ideal Senior Plant Accountant will bring strong accounting expertise, exceptional analytical skills and the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights. This role will serve as a key business partner to plant leadership, supporting financial reporting, cost analysis, budgeting and process improvement initiatives that drive operational efficiency and profitability.



What's the job?

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion in accordance with GAAP
  
  
• Oversee general ledger activity and maintain the integrity of financial records
  
  
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions
  
  
• Perform and review balance sheet, bank account and intercompany reconciliations
  
  
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow reports
  
  
• Partner with plant and operations leadership to analyze manufacturing performance and financial results
  
  
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis activities
  
  
• Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits
  
  
• Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements
  
  
• Drive process improvements and implement accounting best practices
  
  
• Leverage ERP systems and reporting tools to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities
  
  
• Assist with the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
  
  
• Mentor junior accounting staff and support team development
  
  
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance and leadership teams
  
  
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What's needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  
  
• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience
  
  
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  
  
• Experience supporting manufacturing, plant accounting or cost accounting environments preferred
  
  
• Experience managing month-end and year-end close activities
  
  
• Proven success supporting audits and compliance initiatives
  
  
• Advanced reconciliation and financial analysis skills
  
  
• Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software
  
  
• Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency
  
  
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  
  
• CPA or related certification preferred
  
  
• Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred
