Come join the makers who support the dreamers!The team you'll work with …As the Maintenance Mechanic, this is an entry level role that will work directly with our talented Maintenance team to ensure the optimal functionality of our industrial equipment through proactive maintenance and timely repairs. The Maintenance Mechanic will partner with our experienced Mechanics to diagnose and repair a wide range of industrial equipment, including conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, presses, kilns, automated systems, mobile equipment, and pumps. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and is located onsite in Spokane, WA. This is an hourly position on our day shift, working hours from 6:30am-3:00pm and pays up to $27 an hour depending on experience, plus a discretionary bonus and generous stock options.The opportunities you will have …Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical components (pumps, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics) and performing both preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.Technical Proficiency: Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and manufacturer manuals; capable of calibrating machines to ensure optimal performance.Problem Solving & Communication: Strong problem-solving skills, able to systematically identify issues, engage with operators, and maintain clear documentation of work performed.Safety & Compliance: Follows OSHA Safety Regulations, and Building Code Standards, and uses PPE and Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures during maintenance work.Equipment Operation & Teamwork: Operates forklifts, scissor lifts, and cranes; contributes to team goals with a collaborative approach, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.Serving as a Fireclay Tile Brand Ambassador, representing our core values including:Kindness Honesty Tread Lightly on the Earth Measure Twice, Cut Once Ganas (Desire)Accountable to the B Corp standards, we take care of our People and our Planet while turning a Profit.About you …Basic experience in industrial mechanical equipment maintenance and repairBasic knowledge in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software)Experience in maintaining industrial equipmentFabrication is a plus and basic plumbingBasic experience in automated assembly operationsHigh School Diploma or GED, with technical training (Or experience equivalent)Strong commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detailProblem-solving skills and troubleshooting abilitiesBasic knowledge of industrial machinery, tools, and mechanical drive systemsAbility to interpret and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)Reliable, adaptable, and capable of meeting deadlines in a dynamic environmentExcellent communication and collaboration skillsElectrical experience is a plusAbility to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and climbingAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)Ability to work in varying temperature environments and areas with dust and chemicalsWillingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving technologiesAbility to safely operate a forkliftValid driver's licenseYou must supply your own basic toolsWhy Fireclay?Beyond the role itself, here's what makes Fireclay Tile a special place to work:Our Mission: We are on a mission to do good by crafting products intentionally, collaboratively, and transparently.
