Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring SC or compact RN license and Epic experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit with 34 staffed beds
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7, with flexing to 1:7 during unplanned absences
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• PRN low census on-call required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs and sister facilities
• Epic EMR used, experience required

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• 2 years of experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Med/Surg, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Insulin administration, and Rapid Response skills required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac knowledge
• Social Security Number and Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg setting, including managing IV therapy, wound care, and telemetry monitoring
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Hurricane season (June-November) may require assignment to emergency response teams
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of offer for approval based on facility needs
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on the position
• Block scheduling requests can be submitted but are not guaranteed
• Facility may cancel up to one shift every two weeks
