Technical Support Sales Engineer

Responsibilities

Develop strong technical knowledge of product lines, including emergency lighting controls and inverter systems
Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, and engineers regarding product application, design, and troubleshooting
Create and revise technical documentation, including product manuals, specifications, submittals, and technical briefs
Support customer demonstrations, product evaluations, and turnkey project execution
Deliver technical presentations and training sessions via phone, virtual meetings, in-person visits, and trade shows
Collaborate with National Sales Managers to develop sales proposals and customer solutions
Assist in identifying customer requirements and recommending appropriate product applications or alternative solutions
Maintain strong customer relationships and provide ongoing technical support throughout the sales cycle
Travel as required (approximately 30%) to support customer needs, training, and project activities

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent technical work experience
3+ years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or customer-facing technical support
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with understanding of electrical systems or circuitry
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues and provide effective solutions
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
Comfortable working in a results-driven, team-oriented environment
Ability to travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in outside sales or manufacturing equipment sales
Background in electrical applications, lighting controls, or power systems
Familiarity with emergency lighting systems, inverters, or related technologies
Experience supporting engineers, contractors, or distributor networks
Strong understanding of competitive positioning and technical product comparison
