Cox Automotive Mobility Fleet Services proudly announces open enrollment into our next FleeTec Academy class. FleeTec Academy is a paid educational program that leads to becoming a full‑time Diesel & Trailer Technician. We pay you to train, give you free education on diesel fundamentals, and supply you with a toolbox of hand tools. After four weeks of full‑time classroom training and travel/meal stipend, you will pair with a Lead Technician for hands‑on field training and receive a full‑time job offer. You will then loop back for additional classroom study as needed. At the end of the multi‑year program you will earn your Diesel Technician credentials and keep the tools you used. To summarize 4 weeks paid classroom training; all travel expenses paid. Free technical education. Hands‑on training and a full‑time mobile diesel mechanic position. Mobile Technician Responsibilities Operate a state‑of‑the‑art service vehicle to perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customers' locations. Perform routine inspections, fluid changes, and simple repairs onsite; reduce downtime by keeping vehicles running efficiently. Benefits Health, dental, vision insurance starts DAY ONE of employment. 401(k) matching starts after 90 days with 100% match up to 6% of contributions and an additional 2% discretionary contribution by the company. Pay Details $12.99/h (or state minimum wage, whichever is greater) plus a $250/wk stipend (taxed) for the first 4 weeks. $19/h after that for 6 weeks. Second class: 4 weeks at Indianapolis at $19/h plus $250/wk stipend (taxed). + $1/h after graduation. USD 13.70 - 20.53 per hour. Qualifications Desire to start a career as a Diesel & Trailer Technician. Willingness and ability to study hard for four weeks away from home. Maturity to focus on tasks; this is the start of a career path. Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles. Ability to operate an iPad. High‑school diploma or equivalent preferred; not required. Background check, driving record review, pre‑employment drug test and physical required. Candidate must meet DOT regulations: complete DOT‑regulated background screening and DOT physical or have a current medical card with more than four months until expiration. Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid state's driver license and be able to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
